Samantha (Sam) Nolan is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC). She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Edinboro University. Her previous experience includes working with individuals and groups in community agencies and private practice.
She works with individuals ages 14 and older and treats challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-harm, life and college transitions, and prolonged grief disorder.
Sam utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused approach, rooted in an individualized process that helps clients meet their specific goals. By utilizing goal setting techniques, clients are more able to understand their progress, as well as define what success looks like for them. She believes that a committed therapeutic relationship is essential for success, and aims to create a space where clients feel valued, heard, and encouraged to take on challenges.
She also specializes in Art Therapy, which offers a unique way to process emotions, reduce anxiety, and cultivate emotional resilience through art making. Art Therapy offers a unique approach to therapy, that can help individuals communicate their thoughts and feelings in a creative way.
