Eating Disorders

Eating disorders can be a debilitating and exhausting struggle. You don't have to do it on your own.

There is a commonly held view that eating disorders are a lifestyle choice.

Eating disorders are actually serious and often fatal illnesses that cause severe disturbances to a person’s eating behaviors. Obsessions with food, body weight, and shape may also signal an eating disorder.

​Common eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder.

Signs of an Eating Disorder
  • Restrictive and unusual about food
  • Won't eat in front of others
  • Collects recipes and cooks meals for others without eating
  • Food goes missing
  • Avoids others
  • Focus on body shape and size
  • There is a change in clothing worn
