Liana Apuli LSW
I believe that everyone’s life experiences are uniquely their own and that processing begins with self-love. I seek to empower individuals and families through guiding them in their own personal journeys. I utilize my role as an active listener to create a safe, non-judgmental, and empathic space for my clients to explore and process their life experiences at their own pace. My approach to therapy is emotion-focused, holistic, and strengths-based. I look at the whole picture and which parts may need more attention in order to improve daily functioning. This provides building blocks to make positive life-long changes appropriate to your life goals. My role is to provide individuals and families with the tools they need to feel fulfilled in their everyday lives. My approach stems from the biopsychosocial-spiritual model and a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)/talk-therapy modality. I also have experience in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and am an advocate of mindfulness and positive self-talk as powerful tools. Moreover, I have worked in applied behavioral analysis or ABA therapy, which is used with individuals on the Autism Spectrum. I have experience in play, art, and music therapies as well. I have background and experience in the following areas of mental health/wellness across a range of life stages: depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, personality disorders, gender questioning/dysmorphia, various traumas, existential struggles, life transitions, PTSD, OCD, AD(H)D, early childhood/developmental disorders, eating disorders/body dysmorphia, and substance abuse. I also work with couples, families, and parents through a family systems approach.
